This tunnel in Acre was dug and built by the Knights templar during their time in Acre and it was the way they tried to escape when they were under siege 1189CE.
Monument in white marble by Richard Westmacott to General Ralph Abercromby, 1734-1801, in St Paul's Cathedral, London. Monument depicts Abercromby being fatally wounded, on horseback, at the Battle of Alexandria with a kilted member of the 42nd Highland Regiment of Foot supporting him, above the figure of a dying French soldier to indicate the British victory. The sculptural group is on a pedestal flanked by two sphinxes, all on a plinth.
You will find Sir Ralph and his family on the Family Tree of Tullibody. There is also a bio (with others) of his military career as an appendix to this site. He was buried in Malta at the Citadel of the Templars.
Below is how I researched the family and found what I believe is real proof that our predecessors were Knights Templar and therefore many members of the family are still members of the York Rite of the Masonic Lodge.
